Eating at a restaurant, caf\u00e9, pub, or ordering takeaway involves buying both goods (the food\/drink) and services (preparation, service, etc.).<\/h5>\n

Under the Consumer Rights Act:<\/p>\n

Food must be of satisfactory quality, safe, and as described (e.g., matching the menu)
\nService must be with reasonable care and skill.<\/p>\n

If the meal is cold, undercooked, contaminated, or not what you ordered, complain immediately to the manager. Ask for a replacement, removal from the bill, or discount.
\nFor serious issues like food poisoning, keep the receipt, take photos if possible, and get medical evidence if needed. You can claim for the meal cost plus related expenses (e.g., medical treatment).
\nMost places resolve complaints on the spot to avoid bad reviews. If they refuse and the loss is significant, we can advise on pursuing it further.\"\"<\/p>\n
